Hispanic Council for Reform and Educational Options attended the School Choice Reception at the Inaugural International School Choice and Reform Academic Conference held at Nova Southeastern University.

School choice options and reform was the highlight of the event, promoting the importance parental school choice options for their children’s future. Educators and practitioners from all over the country and the world came to Fort Lauderdale to learn from researchers the vitality of school choice options for effective education. The conference emphasized that “school choice and reform studies are simply too important to relegate to the fringes of economics, education, and policy analysis meetings.”

Information packed sessions were not the only thing on the conference’s agenda. Many keynote speakers discussed the issue of K-12 education reform, such Gerard Robinson, Commissioner of Education in the state of Florida.

At the School Choice Reception conference, participants received refreshments, hors d’oeuvres, and the opportunity to network amongst each other.  Dr. Judith Stein, Host Committee Chair of the event, recognized Hispanic CREO as one of the supporters and friends of this year’s conference. Stein recognized several other sponsors and supporters such as the Kauffman Foundation, Alliance for School Choice, the James Madison Institute, and Florida Charter School Alliance.

An award ceremony followed to recognize the conference planning committee dedication and hard work.
