WASHINGTON, May 11, 2012 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- New results from a poll in five key battleground states reveal that education is a top tier issue for battleground voters and Latinos. Improving K-12 education is a high priority for voters and Latinos are more likely than voters overall to cite improving education and increasing education options for parents as core priorities. In fact, among Latinos, the issue of improving education ranks above immigration in terms of core priorities.

The poll, which was co-sponsored by the American Federation for Children (AFC)—the nation's voice for school choice—and the Hispanic Council for Reform and Educational Options (HCREO), was conducted by Democratic polling firm Beck Research LLC, and surveyed likely voters in Arizona, New Mexico, Nevada, Florida, and New Jersey.

AFC and HCREO will release the groundbreaking results of the poll on May 15, 2012 at 2 p.m. eastern at the National Press Club in Washington, D.C. The results will be the most comprehensive yet to illustrate the importance of education and reform in winning the Latino vote during the presidential election.
